Shelf Lookout: Starring Jules (As Herself)| February 8, 2013
Author Beth Ain presents us with a Jules Bloom, a seven-year old girl with an exciting and humorous story to tell. Already given a starred review from Publishers Weekly, this Starring Jules (As Herself) is a recommended read for fans of the Judy Moody and Clementine series.
Jules personality, told through first person narrative promises to be lively, funny, and full of drama beyond her nearly eight years. And who doesn’t like a taste of fame through commercials (reminds me a bit of something that happened in Molly Moon… or maybe I was just hypnotized to think that… never mind).
From the publisher’s website:
Things to Know About Me
by Jules Bloom
1. I am a scrambled-eggs-and-chocolate-milk type person.
2. I have an audition for a TV commercial (which would be great if I were a tall-icy-drink type person.)
3. I am in between best friends right now.
4. I am worried that the audition will be a disaster. (See #1 and #3!)
This is the first in the Starring Jules series (a second book is due out in the fall).
