BluebirdBob Staake is a master of illustrating with geometric shapes. As he’s done a handful of covers for The New Yorker (magazine), over 50 children’s books, some of which he also wrote. In his new book, Bluebird, a young boy endures loneliness and bullying (some very serious themes) before being befriended by a bluebird. According to Bob Staake’s website, he has been working on this story for 10 years (and he believes it is the story he was born to tell). With all the books he’s written and illustrated over the years, that’s saying something. I was always a fan of his books like Look! A Book! and Donut Chef, but this one here is primed to be a great read.

Bluebird will be released on Tuesday, April 9th, 2013
