World Read Aloud Day was designed to take action for global literacy. LitWorld (a non-profit literacy organization) has taken on the mission to build confidence and leadership by strengthening childrens and their communities through literacy. According to LitWorld, at least 793 million people remain illiterate. Last year, World Read Aloud Day reached 65 countries, all 50 states, and hundreds of thousands of participants.
