Today’s story (Why Libraries Matter) comes from Troy, MI, where in 1971, one intrepid children’s librarian contacted leaders, authors, and celebrities from around the world in an effort to tell her patrons why libraries, and reading, matter. With almost 100 letters written in response, she received inspiration from the likes of Dr. Seuss and Neil Armstrong.
