BookshelfMama Funk showed me this article from the New York Times a few years ago and I’ve got to say it’s been inspiring my reading life ever since. I suggest reading the whole piece, but I’ll give you the short version: A dad and daughter read together every evening for over 9 years (3,218 days, to be exact) – from 4th grade until she started college. I will admire this father and daughter combo for the rest of my life, not only for doing something admirable and very difficult, but also for inspiring me to read with my children for as much of every evening as we can.

Reading as a family and one-on-one with my kids are the best parts of my day. I hope this article will inspire you, as well.
