Just a refresher: The Theodor Seuss Geisel Award is given annually to the author and illustrator of the most distinguished American book for beginning readers published in English in the United States during the preceding year. The award is presented by the Association for Library Services to Children (a division of the American Library Association). This is the 8th Annual Theodor Seuss Geisel Award (the award was first presented in 2006). See the past Geisel Award winners here. The award is named for Dr. Seuss, the world-renowned children’s book author and illustrator.
