The Wide-Awake PrincessThe Wide-Awake Princess by E.D.Baker is a really good book. It is Princess Annie’s sister Gwendolyn’s 16th birthday. On her 16th birthday, a fairy cast a spell on her that if she pricked her finger, she would fall asleep for a hundred years and so would the rest of the castle. The only way the spell could be broken was if Gwendolyn’s true love kissed her (oh, by the way, it had to be a prince). So, Gwendolyn did prick her finger on one of her birthday presents. Annie didn’t fall asleep because a fairy put a spell on her, a spell that said she could not have magic put on her and when she went in the presence of magic, Annie would make the magic slowly fade away.

She got out of the castle, lost in the woods, and found some fairy-tale creatures (I won’t tell you what they were) and she met up with Liam, a guard from the castle who happened to not have fallen asleep because he was out doing an errand while the spell was cast. Annie and Liam went all over to different kingdoms to try and find princes to kiss Gwendolyn.

I really liked this book because it has fairy-tales and fairy-tale creatures mixed in with the story. Like, a kelpie and the witch from Hansel and Gretel and more. The Wide-Awake Princess is awesome!

I hope you had fun reading this post.

I had fun writing it.
