Sky the Unwanted KittenSky the Unwanted Kitten by Holly Webb is about a kitten named Sky. Lucy had always wanted a kitten. When her family moved to a new house, her parents got her one. Lucy thought that her parents got it for her so she would forget about moving because she was really sad to move. Lucy pretended that she didn’t want Sky, but secretly she loved him. Since she acted like she didn’t want him, so her parents were going to give him back to the shelter. One morning her mother said they were going to bring Sky back to the shelter, so when Lucy and her friend Izzy came home from school, Lucy thought Sky would be gone. Her mother hadn’t brought Sky back to the shelter yet, but they couldn’t find Sky so they were frantically searching all over the house. Meanwhile, Sky was hiding in a closet that he accidentally closed. Finally Lucy found him and she was really happy to have him back.

When I was reading Sky the Unwanted Kitten, I got a little bit sad when Lucy was pretending she didn’t like Sky. Sky was very confused because Lucy was ignoring him so much. That’s why it made me sad. I was so sad that I actually stopped reading it for a little while. But I couldn’t just stop in the middle of the book, it was so good. And plus, I needed to find out what happened next. I’ve never felt so sad about a book I’ve read before, but I’m glad I finished it because at the end I was so happy that Lucy finally stopped pretending that Sky wasn’t there.
