Emily Windsnap #1: The Tail of Emily WindsnapThe Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler is about a girl named Emily Windsnap. Emily lives on a houseboat with her mom. Her mom has never let her go in the water, even though they live on a houseboat! How crazy is that?!? When she’s 12 years old, after all the begging and pleading to go in the water, her mom finally lets her take swimming lessons at her school. During the first lesson, she dives into the pool and finds her legs acting a little stranger than they should. Eventually she finds out she’s a mermaid. Half-mermaid. She ends up meeting some other mermaids and mermen in the underwater realm and has an exciting adventure discovering the troubling past of her mer-ancestry.

This book was awesome! This book was one of the best books I’ve ever read. It was so … so … I don’t know the word. There’s like no word. Okay, well, anyways, it’s just so awesome. It made me feel like I was right in the world swimming with Emily Windsnap. I even had dreams about me having adventures with Emily Windsnap. In one dream, I was half-mermaid/half-human, and these mer-people were hiding these coins and me and Emily were trying to find them and I found some in the bathroom of a restaurant (I think it was a Starbucks because my little brother was eating Very Berry Coffee Cake) and when I pulled the coins out of my pocket to show my dad, the coins had turned into one ginormous goldfish.

This book may have been written ten years ago, but it is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo – yeah, it was awesome! The Tail of Emily Windsnap is the first book in the Emily Windsnap series. I’m going to get the next one very soon. If you like mermaids, you’re definitely gonna like this book.

I hope you had fun reading this post.

I had fun writing it.
